look [down]

remember to stop and look down every once in a while...you just might find art.

3, 2, 1...[chalk]

as a kid, i remember building model rockets and spending summer evenings firing them off!  it seemed only appropriate to celebrate those days of summers past in chalk.

be happy [bee] chalk

during this pandemic it's important to look on the bright side and try to remain positive.  here's a bee to remind us to not worry...bee happy!

[baseball] chalk

it appears baseball is back! to celebrate here's a chalk drawing of one of my all time favorite baseball songs.

a [box of chalk] that never [runs] out

this weeks chalk art is brought to you by a huge new box of chalk, with several new colors, i received from my daughter for fathers day.

it's also inspired by one of my favorite movie scenes of all time, the elevator scene in "500 days of summer" where the two main characters discover their mutual love for "the smiths."

sea of [chalk]

this week's chalk art inspired by one of my favorite songs, i discovered from a movie i really didn't like all that much. [crepuscolo sul mare] from "ocean's 12"

pretty in [chalk]

this weeks chalk art is brought to you by rain.  i've been letting mother nature decide when the slate needed to be wiped clean for a new sketch, but a lack of rain the last few weeks meant that damn hot air balloon enjoyed an extended stay on the sidewalk.  this weeks drawing was inspired by my love of pink lawn flamingos as well as the classic 80's movie i've watched twice this week.  due to positive feedback from the neighbors, this also represents the first piece i practiced and sketched out beforehand, to [step up my game] a bit.

[chalk] it up

this week's chalk art brought to you by a new box of chalk and a wondrous sense of adventure.  lyrics by "the fifth dimension"

[chalk] like a butterfly

this week's chalk art is brought to you by the three remaining colors i had left in the box i started out with... which lead to a sort of neon butterfly, with equally obscure lyrics inspired by the "crazy town" song.

a spoonful of [chalk]

this week's chalk art inspired by a great springtime activity that also allows you to keep practicing your social distancing. lyrics taken from the "mary poppins" song.

here comes the [chalk]

this weeks chalk art inspired by the warmer temperatures we're starting to see here in maine.  also with lyrics from a beatles song.

you're a [sun]flower

this week's chalk art, inspired by my home state with lyrics from the post malone song....you know, so the neighborhood knows i'm hip.

chalk he[art]

one benefit to this whole [self isolation] business is i feel people are enjoying the simpler things in life again, like neighborhood walks with the family.

our neighborhood has many many people walking it's streets.  to make the walk a little more enjoyable for them, i thought i'd try my hand at some chalk art. here's a small bunny i did to remind everyone, to [love every bunny]
