[working] for the [weekend]

the weekends never felt so sweet.........

i feel kind of pointless making this observation, as most of my "blog buddies" have been working for over a year now, but it's something that i'm just now experiencing. after two weeks my body is still adjusting to this new schedule that it must follow, which is about a six hours shift closer to the morning then i'm use too. i have learned, however that sleeping in just one extra hour on saturdays is about the best feeling in the world.

i've finished two weeks at my office, and so far so good. i'm slowly learning how everything works and more importantly what printer to send what too. this office works fast. i'm not sure if that's the norm or not, but the speed is a noticeable shift higher then what i was use to in san diego. after two weeks i've already amassed a list of four projects that i've spent a great deal of time on, including a "few hours" of over-time.

the project i enjoy working on the most is the dentist office. i was handed the floor plans and the old elevations, and told to make it "cooler" and "cheaper". which i'm learning is a constant theme in the office. after a few different drawings, i found an elevation that i liked and thought was a vast improvement. we met with the client, l and he loved the changes made.
i'm finding that the time i spend in the office during the week, has made me even more anxious to go out and discover a city i thought i knew. i try to venture to different places for lunch, and explore even more on the weekends with friends and co-workers. i already have a different opinion of wichita then a i did a month ago. working downtown, i feel more apart of the city. i hope this trend of discovery continues as i move into my apartment this weekend.
